When the amount includes decimals, you must add “paisa” in words. This guide covers the most common cases and how to avoid confusion.

Whole amounts

Write “only” at the end in English. Example: Fifty thousand rupees only.

With paisa

Spell the decimal part in words: Fifty thousand rupees and seventy-five paisa. In Urdu: پچاس ہزار روپے اور پچہتر پیسے.

Edge cases

• 0.05 → “Five paisa” (rare in cheques but valid for invoices)
• 0.5 → “Fifty paisa”
• 0.00 → Write “only” after rupees
